Fiery Trials Presented in Detail
Do you feel drawn to Jesus? John 6:44, "No one can come to Me unless the Father, Who sent Me, draws him; and I will raise him up at the last day." Are you and your household being called by God, the Father? 1 Peter 2:21, "For to this you were called because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that you should follow in His footsteps." Will you choose a path in life leading to salvation? Matthew 7:13-14, "Enter in through the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and many are those who enter through it; 14 For narrow the gate and difficult is the way that leads to life, and few are those who find it." Fiery Trials Presented in Detail

God Uses Fire as His Tool
Is fire a tool or a threat to you and your household? There is written evidence that the Lord has control over fire. This fact should get our attention as it intrigued Moses! Exodus 3:2-3, "And the Angel of the LORD appeared to him in a flame of fire, out of the midst of a bush; and he looked, and behold, the bush burned with fire! And the bush was not consumed. 3 And Moses said, 'I will now turn aside and see this great sight, why the bush does not burn up.' " Another time the Bible speaks of a third of men being killed by fire, smoke, and brimstone. Revelation 9:13-15, "And the sixth angel sounded his trumpet; and I heard a voice from the four horns of the golden altar that is before God; 14 And it said to the sixth angel, who had the trumpet, "Loose the four angels who are bound in the great river Euphrates." 15 Then the four angels, who had been prepared for the hour and day and month and year, were loosed, so that they might kill a third of men." Biblical prophecy consistently describes fire as the primary means of God's final judgment and the purification of creation, contrasting with the water used in Noah's flood. 2 Peter 3:6-7, "By which the world at that time, having been deluged with water, had itself been destroyed. 7 But the present heavens and earth are being held in store by His Word, and are being reserved for fire in the day of the judgment and destruction of the ungodly." The wicked shall not go unpunished! Malachi 4:1-3, " 'For behold, the day is coming, burning like a consuming oven; and all the proud, and every doer of wickedness, shall be stubble. And the day that comes shall burn them up,' says the LORD of hosts, 'and will leave them neither root nor branch. 2 But unto you who fear My name, the sun of righteousness shall arise, and healing will be in its wings. And you shall go out and grow up like calves of the stall. 3 And you shall trample the wicked, for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I am preparing,' says the LORD of hosts."

Summation
Fiery trials are God's way of refining our character. Proverbs 17:3, "The refining pot is for silver and the furnace for gold, but the LORD tries the hearts." Do you detect a feeling of urgency to live in accordance with God's will, preparing yourselves for the day of the Lord. One third will not perish. Zechariah 13:8-9, " 'And it shall come to pass in all the land,' says the LORD, 'two parts in it shall be cut off and die; but the third shall be left in it. 9 And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried. They shall call upon My name, and I will answer them; I will say, "It is My people;" and they shall say, "The LORD is my God." ' " So the question is how prepared are you for the "day of the Lord"? 2 Peter 3:9-13, "The Lord is not delaying the promise of His coming, as some in their own minds reckon delay; rather, He is longsuffering toward us, not desiring that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. 10 However, the day of the Lord shall come as a thief in the night in which the heaven itself shall disappear with a mighty roar, and the elements shall pass away, burning with intense heat, and the earth and the works in it shall be burned up. 11 Since all these things are going to be destroyed, what kind of persons ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness, 12 Looking forward to and striving for the coming of the day of God, during which the heavens, being on fire, shall be destroyed, and the elements, burning with intense heat, shall melt? 13 But according to His promise, we look forward to a new heaven and a new earth, in which righteousness dwells."

Summation
