THE WAY Examined in Detail

THE WAY is Less Traveled

> Words you hear are JUST EMPTY WORDS … unless you actually HEED THEM.

"Then be doers of the Word, and not only hearers, deceiving your own selves Because if anyone is a hearer of the Word and not a doer, this one is like a man considering his natural face in a mirror Who, after looking at himself, went away and immediately forgot what he was like." (James 1:22-24).

> ACTIONS DETERMINE WHO YOU ARE. Some will not inherit...

"Don't you know that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor abusers of themselves as women, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God." (1 Corinthians 6:9-10).

"Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, licentiousness, idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, strifes, jealousies, indignations, contentions, divisions, sects, envyings, murders, drunkenness, revelings, and such things as these; concerning which I am telling you beforehand, even as I have also said in the past, that those who do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God." (Galatians 5:19-21).

"Now I do this for the sake of the gospel, that I might be a fellow partaker with you." (1 Corinthians 9:23). "I therefore so run, not as one who is uncertain; so also I fight, not as beating the air. But I discipline my body and bring it into subjection, lest, after preaching to others, I myself might be rejected." (1 Corinthians 9:26-27).

> EVERY ACTION COUNTS. INTEGRITY – Have complete honesty or be corrupt.

"Don't you realize that to whom you yield yourselves as servants to obey, you are servants of the one you obey, whether it is of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness? But thanks be to God, that you were the servants of sin, but you have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered to you; And having been delivered from sin, you became the servants of righteousness." (Romans 6:16-18).

> The Golden Rule is THE Standard to Live and to Follow.

"Therefore, everything that you would have men do to you, so also do to them; for this is the Law and the Prophets. Enter in through the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and many are those who enter through it; For narrow the gate and difficult is the way that leads to life, and few are those who find it." (Matthew 7:12-14)

> OF KEY IMPORTANCE IS OUR CHARACTER

Commitment - "But as for you, seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you." (Matthew 6:33).

Honesty - "The one who says, 'I know Him,' and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. On the other hand, if anyone is keeping His Word, truly in this one the love of God is being perfected. By this means we know that we are in Him. Anyone who claims to dwell in Him is obligating himself also to walk even as He Himself walked." (1 John 2:4-6).

Accountability - "But now you boast in your own arrogance {pride}. All such boasting is evil. Therefore, if anyone knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin." (James 4:16-17).

Revere God - "And you shall keep the commandments of the LORD your God to walk in His ways and to {Revere} fear Him." (Deuteronomy 8:6). "And if you call upon the Father, Who judges according to each man's work without respect of persons, pass the time of your life's journey in the fear {reverence} of God." (1 Peter 1:17). "But if you have respect of persons, you are practicing sin, being convicted by the law as transgressors." (James 2:9).

Attitude - "In the same manner, you younger men be subject to the older men; and all of you be subject to one another, being clothed with humility because God sets Himself against the proud, but He gives grace to the humble. Be humbled therefore under the mighty hand of God so that He may exalt you in due time." (1 Peter 5:5-6).

Courage - "So then, let us boldly say, 'The Lord is my helper, and I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?' " (Hebrews 13:6). "The LORD is on my side; I will not fear. What can man do to me?" (Psalms 118:6).

Trust - "The LORD is for me as my helper; therefore I will look in triumph upon those who hate me. It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man." (Psalms 118:7-8).

Ethics & Integrity - "Do not allow the love of money to influence your behavior, but be satisfied with what you have; for He has said, 'In no way will I ever leave you; no—I will never forsake you in any way.' " (Hebrews 13:5).

Responsibility - "But if anyone does not provide for his own needy relatives—and especially members of his household—he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever." (1 Timothy 5:8). "Watch and pray, so that you do not enter into temptation. The spirit {indeed}, truly is willing, but the flesh is weak." (Matthew 26:41 & Mark 14:38). "Likewise you also, when you have done all the things that are commanded you, say, 'We are unprofitable servants, because we have done that which we were obligated to do'." (Luke 17:10). "Now I do this for the sake of the gospel, that I might be a fellow partaker with you. Don't you know that those who run a race all run, but only one receives the prize? That is the way you are to run in order that you may obtain the prize. For everyone who is striving for mastery controls himself in all things. Of course, they do this so that they may receive a corruptible crown; but we are striving for an incorruptible crown. I therefore so run, not as one who is uncertain; so also I fight, not as beating the air. But I discipline my body and bring it into subjection, lest, after preaching to others, I myself might be rejected." (1 Corinthians 9:23-27).

Summation

Walk Worthily of the LORD: "Because of the hope that is laid up for you in heaven, which you heard before in the word of the truth of the gospel; Which has come to you, even as it also has in all the world, and is bringing forth fruit, just as it is among you, from the day that you heard and knew the grace of God in truth; Even as you also learned from Epaphras, our beloved fellow servant, who is a faithful minister of Christ for you; Who has also informed us of your love in the Spirit. For this cause we also, from the day that we heard of it, do not cease to pray for you and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; That you may walk worthily of the Lord, unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work and growing in the knowledge of God; Being strengthened with all power according to the might of His glory, unto all endurance and long-suffering with joy; Giving thanks to the Father, Who has made us qualified for the share of the inheritance of the saints in the light; Who has personally rescued us from the power of darkness and has transferred us unto the kingdom of the Son of His love; In Whom we have redemption through His own blood, even the remission of sins." (Colossians 1:5-14).

The Golden Rule Repeated: "Therefore, everything that you would have men do to you, so also do to them; for this is the Law and the Prophets. Enter in through the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and many are those who enter through it; For narrow the gate and difficult is the way that leads to life, and few are those who find it." (Matthew 7:12-14). Never steal vengeance from God: "For we know Him Who has said, 'Vengeance belongs to Me. I will recompense {repay}!' says the Lord. And again, 'The Lord will judge His people.' It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God." (Hebrews 10:30-31). "Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep His commandments. For this is the whole {duty of} man. For God shall bring every work into judgment, concerning every secret thing, whether it is good, or whether it is evil." (Ecclesiastes 12:13-14). "And your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, 'This is THE WAY, walk in it,' when you turn to the right hand and when you turn to the left." (Isaiah 30:21).
