Table of Grace Examined in Detail |

Come to the Table of Grace Colossians 2:8-13, "Be on guard so that no one takes you captive through philosophy and vain deceit, according to the traditions of men, according to the elements of the world, and not according to Christ. 9 For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily; 10 And you are complete in Him, Who is the Head of all principality and power 11 In Whom you have also been circumcised with the circumcision not made by hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ; 12 Having been buried with Him in baptism, by which you have also been raised with Him through the inner working of God, Who raised Him from the dead. 13 For you, who were once dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has now made alive with Him, having forgiven all your trespasses." Colossians 2:14-18, "He has blotted out the note of debt against us with the decrees of our sins, which was contrary to us; and He has taken it away, having nailed it to the cross. 15 After stripping the principalities and the powers, He made a public spectacle of them, and has triumphed over them in it. 16 Therefore, do not allow anyone to judge you in eating or in drinking, or with regard to a festival, or new moon, or the Sabbaths {not Sabbath Day!}, 17 Which are a foreshadow of the things that are coming, but the body of Christ. 18 Do not allow anyone to defraud you of the prize by doing his will in self-abasement and the worship of angels, intruding into things that he has not seen, vainly puffed up by his own carnal mind." Philippians 2:12, "So then, my beloved, even as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling." We are warned: 1 John 5:21, "Little children, keep yourselves from idols. Amen." Hebrews 8:1-2, "Now here is a summary of the things being discussed: We have such a High Priest Who sat down at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens; 2 A Minister of the sanctuary and of the true tabernacle, which the Lord set up, and not man." Simply speaking, when Israel came out of Egyptian captivity, there was established an old covenant of do and do not that the Israelites were directed to follow. Now a new covenant has come because there was fault with the first covenant; basically they did not remain true to their first agreement. Hebrews 8:6-9, "But on the other hand, He has obtained a supremely more excellent ministry, as much greater as the superior covenant of which He {Christ} is also Mediator, which was established upon superior promises. 7 For if the first covenant had been faultless, then no provision for a second covenant would have been made. 8 But since He found fault with them, He says, 'Behold, the days are coming,' says the Lord, 'when I will establish a new covenant with the house of Israel and the house of Judah; 9 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took hold of their hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt because they did not continue in My covenant, and I disregarded them,' says the Lord." Hebrews 8:13, "In speaking of a new covenant, He has made the first covenant obsolete. Now that which has become old and obsolete is about to disappear." Do people reject change and adhere to taught traditions of yesteryear? Of course they do! People are reluctant and opposed to change. Hebrews 13:9-10, "Do not be carried about by all kinds of strange doctrines. For it is good for the heart to be confirmed by grace and not by foods, which have brought no spiritual benefit to those who have been preoccupied with them. 10 We have an altar from which those who are serving the present earthly tabernacle do not have authority to eat." Will you come to the table of grace? Let's examine the shadow cast in scripture, depicting Christ and salvation before He appeared as the Messiah. The LORD formerly spoke to Moses directing the keeping of feasts to the Lord for the children of Israel. The Sabbath Day predates the other feast days, as it is commanded upon the covenant tables of stone and written by the finger of God! Then comes many outlined historic seasons: First the Passover in Egypt when the Israelites were covered (saved) by the blood of a lamb. Next Leavened Bread was avoided as they ritualistically put out such bread, depicting vanity and sin. Later came the often neglected feast of First-fruit. A priest offered a premier (first acceptable) wave sheaf "to the Lord" before the harvest of first-fruit in Canaan was accepted to be harvested when Israel entered the land! Many of these feasts "required" animals be sacrificed and fire offerings. Leviticus 23:14, "And you shall eat neither bread, nor parched grain, nor green ears until the same day, until you have brought an offering to your God. It shall be a statute forever throughout your generations in all your dwellings." There were "do and do not" instructions with various food offerings. These statues were to last for ever. Such a statute lasts until "ever" occurs; an event that concludes the specified requirement; ever does not last for an eternity! For example: First-fruit was dependent upon the barley harvest in a specific location with a specific group, Israelites. It was not observed during the wandering in the wilderness; neither would it be observed nor kept by those at differing locations or national backgrounds! It concerned a barley harvest only in the land of Canaan. The feast of Weeks also required a priest to perform animal sacrifice! The feast of Trumpets was a new moon feast for Israel, followed ten days later by the day of Atonement. These were annual sabbaths of rest, given to Israel for a time. Lastly followed the seven day feast of Tabernacles, ending with the "Eight Day." Most of these feast days required offerings by fire performed by Priests previously appointed by the Lord. The Levitical priesthood has been dissolved as Jesus became the high priest and is now sitting at the right hand of God. Hebrews 4:15-16, "For we do not have a high priest who cannot empathize with our weaknesses, but One Who was tempted in all things according to the likeness of our own temptations; yet He was without sin. 16 Therefore, we should come with boldness to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need." We have access to the throne of God through Jesus' name – authority! John 14:13, "And whatever you shall ask in My name, this will I do that the Father may be glorified in the Son." Hebrews 13:5-6, "Do not allow the love of money to influence your behavior, but be satisfied with what you have; for He has said, 'In no way will I ever leave you; no—I will never forsake you in any way.' 6 So then, let us boldly say, 'The Lord is my helper, and I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?' "

Why Jesus Died for Us |

Now a mini lesson concerning Greek writing: basically no capitals would occur and no punctuation would be present, as well as chapter and verse divisions would not be present. Translators have added such; sometimes altering the God inspired text to suit their bias. For instance read in: Matthew 27:43-44, " 'He trusted in God; let Him deliver Him now, if He will have Him. For He said, "I am the Son of God." ' 44 And the two robbers who were crucified with Him also reproached Him with the same words." However one of the robbers had a "change of heart" as written in: Luke 23:39-43, "Then one of the malefactors who was hanging there railed at Him, saying, 'If You are the Christ, save Yourself and us.' 40 But the other one answered and rebuked him, saying, 'Do not even you fear God, you who are under the same condemnation? 41 And we indeed justly, for we are receiving due payment for what we did.' 42 Then he said to Jesus, 'Remember me, Lord, when You come into Your kingdom.' 43 And Jesus said to him, 'Truly, I tell you today, you shall be with Me in paradise.' " Here we have commas placed correctly by the translators. Carefully examine: Matthew 27:50-54, "And after crying out again with a loud voice, Jesus yielded up His spirit. 51 Then suddenly the veil of the temple was ripped in two from top to bottom, and the earth shook, and the rocks were split, 52 So that the tombs were opened. And many bodies of the saints who had died, were resurrected after His resurrection and came out of the tombs. Then they entered into the holy city, and appeared to many. 54 Then the centurion and those with him who had been keeping guard over Jesus, after seeing the earthquake and the things that took place, were filled with fear, and said, 'Truly this was the Son of God!' " Note: who were these resurrected saints? They had died, not having received the "promise." Paul speaks of this promise: 2 Timothy 1:1, "Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, according to the promise of life which is in Christ Jesus." Resurrected Saints Do NOT Die a second death as many people have falsely concluded! Hebrews 9:27, "And as it is appointed to men once to die, but after this the judgment." Hebrews 11:1-6, "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. 2 For by it the {old covenant} elders obtained a good report." Hebrews 11:13, "These all died by way of faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off. And they were persuaded of them and embraced them and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. Abraham received this promise after Jesus' resurrection and Jesus' acceptance as the wave sheaf offering! Hebrews 6:15-20, "Now after he had patiently endured, he {Abraham} obtained the promise. 16 For indeed, men swear by the greater, and confirmation by an oath puts an end to all disputes between them. 17 In this way God, desiring more abundantly to show the heirs of the promise the unchangeable nature of His own purpose, confirmed it by an oath; 18 So that by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we who have fled for refuge might have strong encouragement to lay hold on the hope that has been set before us; 19 Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both secure and steadfast, and which enters into the sanctuary within the veil; 20 Where Jesus has entered for us as a forerunner, having become a High Priest forever according to the order of Melchisedec."

Understanding First-fruit |
|---|
|
After His resurrection, Jesus spoke to Mary Magdalene: John 20:17, "Jesus said to her, 'Do not touch Me, because I have not yet ascended to My Father. But go to My brethren and tell them that I am ascending to My Father and your Father, and My God and your God.' " Christ was the wave sheaf offering and the old testament saints were the accepted first-fruit. Christ is not the first-fruit, but the wave sheaf offering enabling the first-fruit, who could then receive the "promise." 1 Corinthians 15:20, "But now Christ has been raised from the dead; He has become {wrought - enabled} the first-fruit of those who have fallen asleep." Now rightly understand this: 1 Corinthians 15:22-23, "For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ shall all be made alive. 23 But each in his own order: Christ {the wave sheaf} the {old testament saints} first-fruit; then, those who are Christ's at His coming {new covenant saints}." New covenant saints are: James 1:18, "According to His own will, He begat us by the Word of truth, that we might be a kind of first-fruit of all His created beings." Old testament saints are mentioned in: Revelation 14:3-5, "And they were singing a new song before the throne, and before the four living creatures and the elders. And no one was able to learn the song except the hundred and forty-four thousand, who were redeemed from the earth. 4 These are the ones who were not defiled with women, for they are virgins; they are the ones who follow the Lamb wherever He goes. They were purchased {by Jesus' blood} from among men as first-fruit to God and to the Lamb; 5 And no guile was found in their mouths; for they are blameless before the throne of God." Then we have mention of the everlasting gospel preached: Revelation 14:6-7, "And I saw another angel flying in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to proclaim to those who dwell on the earth, and to every nation and tribe and language and people; 7 Saying with a loud voice, "Fear God, and give glory to Him, because the hour of His judgment has come; and worship Him Who made the heaven, and the earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters." This was told in: Matthew 28:18-20, "And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, 'All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Me. 19 Therefore, go and make disciples in all nations. And lo, I am with you always, even until the completion of the age.' Amen." (<- Correct quote!) Mark 16:20, "And they went out and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them and confirming the Word by the signs that followed. Amen." Because of the action of those who believe the "promises": Acts 2:38-39, "Then Peter said to them, 'Repent and be baptized each one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and you yourselves shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 For the promise is to you and to your children, and to all those who are afar off, as many as the Lord our God may call.' " We read in Revelation 7:4-8, about Israel receiving salvation and: Revelation 7:9-10, "After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude, which no one was able to number, out of every nation and tribe and people and language, was standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes and holding palms in their hands; 10 And they were calling out with a loud voice to Him Who sits on the throne and to the Lamb, saying, 'The salvation of our God has come.'
