No Need to Study Counterfeit
(False) Religions!:
[God warns us to avoid seeking
after other gods who in fact are not of the Father.]
Deuteronomy 6:14 “You shall not go after
other gods, of the gods of the people who are around about
you,”
[Seek marriage and fellowship
with people of faith in God and serving Him!]
“Nor shall you make marriages with them. You
shall not give your daughter to his son, nor shall you take his daughter to your
son. For they will turn away your sons from following Me so that they
may serve other gods. Then the anger of the LORD be kindled against you
and will destroy you suddenly.” (Deuteronomy 7:3-4)
“Do not be unequally yoked together with
unbelievers. For what do righteousness and lawlessness have in common? And what
fellowship does light have with darkness?” (2 Corinthians 6:14)
[Do not agree to follow false
(pagan) ways of those not obeying the Creator God.]
“If your brother, the son of your mother, or
your son, or your daughter, or the wife of your bosom, or your friend, who is
like your own soul, lures you secretly, saying, ‘Let us go and serve other
gods’-which you have not known, you, nor your fathers, That is of the
gods of the people who are round about you, near you or far off from you, from
the one end of the earth even to the other end of the earth-You shall not
consent unto him, nor hearken to him. Nor shall your eye pity him, nor
shalt you spare, nor shalt thou conceal him.” (Deuteronomy 13:6-8)
[Following false gods will
lead you astray from the way of truth and salvation!]
“And yet they would not listen unto their
judges, but they went lusting after other gods, and bowed themselves to
them. They turned quickly out of the way which their fathers walked in,
for they had obeyed the commandments of the LORD; these however did not do so.”
(Judges 2:17)
[Keep God’s words and do not
inquire about other gods. They are not worth studying about!]
“Be careful to observe and obey all these
words which I command you, so it may go well with you, and with your
children after you forever when you do that which is good and right in the sight
of the LORD your God. When the LORD your God shall cut off the nations from
before you, where you go to possess them, and you take their place and dwell in
their land, Take heed to yourself that you do not become ensnared by following
them, after they are destroyed from before you, and that you do not ask about their gods, saying, ‘How did these
nations serve their gods that I may also do likewise?’ You shall not do so to the LORD your God, for every
abomination to the LORD, which He hates, they have done to their gods; even
their sons and their daughters they have burned in the fire to their gods.
Whatsoever thing that I command you, be careful to do it. You shall not add to
it, nor take away from it.” (Deuteronomy 12:28-32)
[Do not be terrified at
heavenly signs, nor learn to follow heathen practices.]
“Thus says the LORD, ‘Do not learn the
way of the heathen, and do not be terrified at the signs of heavens; for
the nations are terrified at them. For the customs of the people are vain;
for one cuts a tree out of the forest, with the axe, the work of the
hands of the workman. They adorn it with silver and with gold; they fasten
it with nails and with hammers, so that it will not move.” (Jeremiah
10:2-4)
[Created images are a lie and
there is no breath in them, they are vanity!]
“Every man is stupid for lack of knowledge;
every refiner is put to shame by the graven image; for his molten image is a
lie, and there is no breath in them. They are vanity, the work of delusion; in
the time of their judgement they shall perish.” (Jeremiah 10:14-15)
[All scripture, both Old and
New Testament, is God-breathed (inspired).]
“All scripture is God-breathed
and is profitable for doctrine, for conviction, for correction, for instruction
in righteousness;” (2 Timothy 3:16)
[Jesus Christ the Nazarean is
the only name by which we may be saved!]
“Be it known to you all, and to all the people
of Israel, that in the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarean, Whom you
crucified, but Whom God has raised from the dead, by Him this man stands
before you whole. This is the Stone that was set at naught by you, the builders,
which has become the Head of the corner. And there is no salvation in any other,
for neither is there another name under heaven which has been given among
men, by which we must be saved.” (Acts 4:10-12)
[Those who accept Jesus and
obey the word of truth shall be saved!]
“And it shall come to pass that everyone
who calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved. Men, Israelites,
listen to these words: Jesus the Nazarene, a man set forth to by of God, as
demonstrated by works of power and wonders and signs, which God performed by Him
in your midst, as you yourselves also know; Him, having been delivered up by the
predetermined plan and foreknowledge of God, you have seized by lawless hands
and have crucified and killed. But God hath raised Him up, having loosed the
throes of death, because it was not possible for Him to be held by it.” (Acts
2:21-24)
[Keeping God’s commandments
allows us to ask and receive whatever we may ask.]
“And whatever we may ask we receive from
Him because we keep His commandments and practice those things that are
pleasing in His sight. And this is His commandment: that we believe on the name
of His Son Jesus Christ, and that we love one another, exactly as He gave
commandment to us. And the one who keeps His commandments is dwelling in Him,
and He in him; and by this we know that He is dwelling in us: by the Spirit
which He has given to us.” (1 John 3:22-24)
[Only the Father can draw
sinners to Jesus. Pray that the Father will draw them!]
For this reason, Jesus answered them and said,
”Do not be complaining among one another. No one can
come to Me unless the Father, Who sent Me, draws him; and I will raise
him up at the last day.” (John 6:43-44)
[No need to show this to
unbelievers:]
"Do not give that
which is holy to the dogs, nor cast your pearls before the swine, lest
they trample them under their feet, and turn around and tear you to
pieces." (Matthew 7:6)
