Forgiveness Examined in Detail
John 8:2-7, "… early in the morning {Jesus} came again into the temple … the scribes and Pharisees brought unto him a woman taken in adultery; and when they had set her in the midst, They say … Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act. Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned. Therefore what do You say? … {Jesus} said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him throw a stone at her first." Romans 3:23, "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God." All too often people point fingers, judge others, and tell only half their story or issue. People are ignoring their own sins and omitting parts of the truth. Christ instructed that we are to forgive each other in the Lord's prayer: Matthew 6:5-13. Then, Jesus went on to re-emphasize forgiveness in: Mathew 6:14-15: "For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15 But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses." Did you get that, IF WE DO NOT Forgive other people, their sins/trespasses; then God will NOT forgive yours. It is neither our place to condemn nor pass judgement; but to work out and put aside our grievances with one another. Vengeance does not belong to you, to me or to anyone. Vengeance belongs to God, who will deal with people who are abusers and have vendettas and other issues when and as He sees fit to do so. Forgiveness with Boundaries shows the need for accountability for previous and future actions. John 14:6 , "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me." Acts 4:12 "And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved.' "1 John 5:14, "This is the confidence which we have before Him, that, if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us." Matthew 21:22 , "And all things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive." Psalms 14:1, "… The fool has said in his heart, 'There is no God!' … There is none who does good." Romans 1:20, "For the invisible things of Him are perceived from the creation of the world, being understood by the things that were made—both His eternal power and Godhead— so that they are without excuse." Proverbs 6:12-15, "A worthless person, a wicked man, walks with a perverse mouth, 13 Winking with his eyes, speaking with his feet, pointing with his fingers; 14 Perversity is in his heart; he is always planning mischief; he causes discord. 15 Therefore his calamity shall come suddenly; instantly he shall be broken without remedy." To be perverse is to turn away from what is good and righteous; practicing corruption and rebellion. Such people are spoken of as we continue in this scripture: Proverbs 6:16-19, "These six things the LORD hates; yes, seven are an abomination unto Him: 17 A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, 18 A heart that plots wicked imaginations, feet that are swift in running to evil, 19 A false witness who speaks lies, and he who sows discord among brethren." Those continuing to stir up strife, hold grudges, are bitter and angry, and deliberately seek out the sins of others and expose them, even if those sins are past long ago, are ungodly and spiteful they are not the sort of person God wants in his Kingdom. Such people God does not want in His kingdom. Such behavior is an abomination to God. He loathes it because God is love and He wants NONE to perish. When someone, who claims to be Godly, does this action and behavior it sends the wrong message of spite and hate rather than what God wants us to have towards ONE another. God wants us to do all we can to work things out and forgive one another. Romans 12:18-21, "If possible, as much as is your part, be at peace with all men. 19 Beloved, do not avenge yourselves; rather, leave this to God's wrath; for it is written, " 'Vengeance is Mine! I will recompense {repay},' says the Lord." 20 Therefore, if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him drink; for in doing this you will be heaping coals of fire on his head. 21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good." IT is not our place now nor ever. to retaliate; God loves us all and wants us to get along and LOVE ONE ANOTHER, Period. Stop being Worldly and Become a Child of God trusting Him, not this world and the government of men. We as HUMANS take way too much into our own hands, rather than letting God deal with us in His own time, manner, and way. Christ personally instructed these first steps for anyone with anger issues, or hurt: Matthew 18:15-17, "If your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault, between you and him alone. If he listens to you, you have gained your brother. But if he does not listen, take one or two others along with you, that every charge may be established by the evidence of two or three witnesses. If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church. And if he refuses to listen even to the church, let him be to you as a Gentile and a tax collector." God has a process He expects us to follow when we feel wronged by someone else. 1 Corinthians 6:1-5, "Dare any of you, having a matter against another, go to law before the unrighteous, and not before the saints? 2 Do you not know that the saints will judge the world? And if the world will be judged by you, are you unworthy to judge the smallest matters? 3 Do you not know that we shall judge angels? How much more, things that pertain to this life? 4 If then you have judgments concerning things pertaining to this life, do you appoint those who are least esteemed by the church to judge? 5 I say this to your shame. Is it so, that there is not a wise man among you, not even one, who will be able to judge between his brethren?" God gave all Humanity Ten Basic Commandments we are to heed, obey and follow with no exceptions. They are found in Exodus 20:1-17, "And God spoke all these words, saying, … You shall have no other gods before Me. … You shall not make for yourselves any graven image, … showing mercy to thousands of those who love Me and keep My commandments. … You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain, … Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy. … Honor your father and your mother, … You shall not murder, … You shall not commit adultery, … You shall not steal, … You shall not bear false witness, … You shall not covet, …' " Christ summed the 10 up into two basic realities for all of mankind and to fail to heed and follow and utilize them is to reject God and reject His genuine gift of Salvation. The First summation is found in Mark 12: 30, "A scribe came to Jesus and asked, 'What is the greatest commandment?' Jesus replied, 'You shall love the Lord your God with all of your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.' This is the first commandment." The Second summation is also found in Mark 12:31, "And the second, like it, is this: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. There are no other commandments greater than these."

Humanity has an arrogance toward one another and towards God: arrogance is a sin. Romans 9:20, "But who are you, O man, to talk back to God? Shall what is formed say to Him who formed it, 'Why did You make me like this?' " When someone reaches the age of accountability and understanding; they have to consider seriously and strongly their actions and will they be accepting Christ's grace of salvation? We are to be committed daily to behave in a manner that is pleasing to God and is a light towards others. We are neither to judge, condemn, nor hate others, nor bear false witness; nor dig up dirty laundry of the past. Others may have repented and been forgiven by God, who are we to cast "stones" of condemnation? People change and we do not know the heart of someone else. To castigate others and point fingers is not acceptable to God at all. Matthew 7:1-5, "Do not judge or you to will be judged, 2 for the same way you condemn others you to shall be judged and with the same measure you use it will be measured back to you 3 Why do you point out the speck of dust in your neighbors eye and ignore the log in your own eye? 4 How is it you say to your neighbor, let me take that speck out of your eye when all the time you have a large log blinding your own eye? 5 You are a hypocrite, first remove the log from your eye then you can see clearly how to remove the speck from your neighbor's eye." All too often accusers point fingers at the wrong doing of others, failing to see their own actions that have led to harm in a situation that are equally, if not more harmful than those they are accusing. Who are we to condemn (judge) others? Romans 2:1, "Therefore you are without excuse, O man, everyone who judges another; for in that in which you judge the other, you are condemning your own self; for you who judge another are doing the same things." (You are just as guilty in your sins as they maybe in theirs.) Romans 2:2-3, "But we know that the judgment of God is according to truth upon those who commit such things. 3 Now do you think yourself, O man, whoever is judging those who commit such things, and you are practicing them yourself, that you shall escape the judgment of God?" What a sober warning! Do not think if you pass condemnation on someone else because you feel they wronged you or others that you will escape God's wrath unscathed. In fact you may have a greater punishment than those you accuse, ESPECIALLY if you claim to be righteous, someone who is a child of God. When a so called "righteous person" displays evil actions toward someone who is not yet converted, but is a potential child of God, they can cause someone else to stumble and fall. God is not pleased when someone claiming to represent God, drives an unconverted person away from the truth with their spiteful actions and harsh accusations and words. Christ said in Matthew 18:6, "But whoever shall cause one of these little ones who believe in Me to offend {be offended}, it would be better for him that a millstone be hung around his neck and he be sunk in the depths of the sea." God tells us all in Psalms 37:8-9, "Cease from anger, and forsake wrath; do not fret yourself, it leads only to evil, 9 For evildoers shall be cut off, but those who wait upon {serve} the LORD, they shall inherit the earth." Ephesians 4:25-28, "Therefore, let each one put away lies and speak the truth with his neighbor because we are members of one another. 26 When you become angry, do not sin. Do not let the sun go down on your anger; 27 Neither give place to the devil. 28 Let the one who stole, steal no more; rather, let him labor with his hands, working at what is good, so that he may impart something to the one who has need." Romans 12:16-18, "Be of the same mind toward one another. Do not set your mind on high ambitions; rather, be accommodating with those of low estate. Do not be wise in your own eyes. 17 Do not render to anyone evil for evil, but be prepared to do what is right in the sight of all men. 18 If possible, as much as is your part, be at peace with all men." When believers accept salvation, they undergo a continual transformation that compels them to reflect God’s love, grace, and mercy as a light in the world. This requires living a demonstrative transformed life where good deeds and faith shine through the power of the Holy Spirit towards others.

After we accept Jesus, our lives should reflect the love, grace, and mercy we have received. We commit ourselves to living according to God’s Word. Acts 5:32, "And we are His witnesses of these things, as is also the Holy Spirit, which God has given to those who obey Him." Summation

God commands all humanity to repent: Acts 17:26-31, "And He made of one blood all the nations of men to dwell upon all the face of the earth, having determined beforehand their appointed times and the boundaries of their dwelling. … the poets among you also have said, 'For we are His offspring.'
